Oysters have a way of turning any gathering into something a bit more special. With a few intentional touches, a simple spread can bring the inviting charm of a New England summer to your table. Whether you’re a longtime oyster lover or just looking for an excuse to set a table, here are some tips.

How to Serve and Style Oysters

1. Keep Them Cold:
Serve oysters on a bed of crushed ice to keep them fresh and fabulous. Use a shallow dish, platter, or tray, and pile the ice high for a coastal-chic look.

2. Presentation is Everything:
Our Painted Oyster Plates and Platters along side a few other thoughtful accessories like our Fish Lemon Squeezer and Pewter Seashell Salt and Pepper Shakers. Pair with vintage linen napkins and a few lemon wedges for a pop of color.

3. Add the Extras:
Set out a simple mignonette sauce and/or hot sauce in small bowls. Bonus points if they’re in our Enamel Ramekins-pretty & practical!

4. Don’t Forget the Tools:
A proper oyster knife makes shucking easier and safer. We love pairing form and function with our some of our stylish Oyster Knives and Seafood Forks.

5. Stay Hydrated:
Oysters taste and look great next to sparkling wine, rosé, or dirty martinis. Whether its a mocktail or a cocktail...stemless or with a stem, make sure you're sipping from something elegant. Your glassware polishes your tablescape just like it finishes your outfit!
